Mirzapur. To ease the measurement and demarcation of land in Uttar Pradesh, satellite-based rover technology will now be used instead of traditional jarib and lace. This will help in making accurate measurements of large area of land in less time. Besides, the process of resolving land disputes is also expected to speed up.
Measurement will be done up to centimeters
This machine, which costs about Rs 6 lakh, is installed at designated boundary points of the ground and measurements are taken. It can measure distance in centimeters and inches and is capable of telling a difference of up to 2 centimeters. A field book can also be prepared and printed using the machine along with measurements.
Will be used in tehsils
The new technology will be used for precise measurement of land at the tehsil level. Especially in cases of disputed land, this can help the authorities to complete the work faster. With this, farmers and land owners will not have to wait for a long time for measurement.
Caution is necessary in rain
According to officials, there may be difficulty in using the machine during rains. However, in normal weather, this technique can prove useful in measuring large areas of land in a short time. The new system is expected to help in saving time in measurement of land, preparation of records and also in resolution of land disputes.
