Lucknow. To make women economically stronger in Uttar Pradesh, the government is preparing to launch a big scheme. Under the Uttar Pradesh Mahila Udyami Credit Scheme, women associated with self-help groups can get a credit of up to Rs 1 lakh to start a business or expand the existing work.
The first installment will be Rs 20 thousand
Under the scheme, it is proposed to initially provide an amount of Rs 20 thousand to women. Women who pay on time can get additional credit of Rs 30 thousand and then up to Rs 50 thousand. In this way, the total assistance in three phases can reach up to Rs 1 lakh.
Interest-free loans and special credit cards
The government plans to provide interest-free loans to women. There are preparations to provide a special credit card for this. Women can use this amount in tailoring, food processing, shop, small business or expansion of their already running enterprise.
Will also be connected to digital facilities
The government does not want to limit women to only financial help. There will also be an emphasis on giving them information about digital payments, online sales, digital marketing and financial services. Under the scheme, preparations are being made to provide identity cards and other facilities to the members of women's groups.
At present, the process and format for the scheme is being prepared. The final rules, eligibility and application process will be clear only after the official announcement from the government.
