New Delhi: After the formation of a new team in the BJP organization, the discussion about a major reshuffle in the Modi cabinet has intensified. It is believed that there may be major overhauling of the cabinet. There is speculation about the departure of many veterans and entry of 16 to 17 new young faces. In this reshuffle, the equations of 2027 assembly elections and 2029 Lok Sabha elections will be kept in mind.
Many cabinet stalwarts will be on leave
Cabinet expansion was discussed in detail in Aaj Tak Radio's podcast 'Reporters of Air'. Aishwarya Paliwal told that who gets entry is known only when PM Modi invites him for tea. This time there is discussion on the performance of ministers.
PM Modi had clearly said in the last cabinet meeting that ministers should work on the ground. BJP knows that the ground connect is decreasing and has to go to the 2027 elections with a new team. The elections of UP and Punjab are not easy.
Signs of change in top five ministries also
According to Aishwarya, changes may also be seen in the top five ministries. This will not be due to the work getting spoiled, but to give a chance to someone else. At present there are 69 ministers in the cabinet whereas there can be a maximum of 81, that is, 12 posts are vacant.
14 ministers have more than one ministry. After the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, Pralhad Joshi has been given the additional charge of the Education Ministry, which is a big ministry associated with Gen-Z. In such a situation, departments will be divided.
Vaishnav's promotion and Gadkari's transfer?
There is talk that Ashwini Vaishnav may get promotion. Rahul Gautam and Sanjay Sharma said that Vaishnav has three big ministries like Railways, IT and Information Broadcasting and his work has been good, hence he can be brought in the top five.
Regarding Nitin Gadkari, it is being said that his ministry can be changed and not his leave. After the NEET and E-20 petrol controversy, there is talk of reshuffle in his heavy ministry. Gadkari himself has been giving statements on E-20 in interviews.
Entry of 17 new faces, expansion may happen in September
According to Piyush Mishra, the expansion could happen in September-October, around Janmashtami. 15 to 17 new ministers can be made, in which there will be more faces coming from Rajya Sabha. Allies may also get a place.
Rahul Gautam said that Congress and the entire opposition are keeping an eye on how much representation women, Gen-Z, youth and election states UP, Punjab, Goa get. Modi government does not want to repeat the mistake like Shining India and does not want to delay like Congress.
