New Delhi: Bengaluru Police has arrested a 25-year-old youth from West Bengal for allegedly planning an attack against the Pakistani Army. Police claim that the accused had contacts with a person associated with the banned Afghanistan-based Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The accused was arrested on August 11 from Bommasandra Industrial Area of Bengaluru.
Who is the accused related to this incident?
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Asaful Malik bin Abed Malik. He worked as a security guard in Bengaluru and lived in Jigani area. He was taken into custody after the investigating agencies got information about his alleged activities. Police say that during the interrogation, the social media activities of the accused were also investigated.

According to investigators, he used to express his displeasure over the alleged actions of the Pakistan Army on social media. He also accused the Pakistan Army of committing atrocities against mosques and common people. Apart from this, the police claim that he was also angry with the Pakistan Army's stance on the issue of Israel-Palestine conflict.
How was the person contacted?
During the investigation, police reportedly found out that Malik had contacted a person named Imran Ahindar through Facebook. Police have identified him as a member of TTP active in Afghanistan. It is alleged that Malik had sought its help in retaliating against the Pakistani Army. According to the police, the accused had also tried to go to Afghanistan. For this, he had started the process of getting a passport and applying for a visa, but he could not go there.
The investigators also examined the mobile phone of the accused. Police claim that some messages and audio recordings have been found from the phone, which mention conversations related to action against the Pakistani Army. Now these digital evidences are being investigated.
Under which sections the case was registered
A case has been registered in the Hebbagodi police station under Section 113(3) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023. The police are now investigating the accused's alleged TTP contacts and his role in the entire case. Officials say that as the investigation progresses, other aspects of the conspiracy and information about possible contacts may come to light.
