Big uproar during Kanwar Yatra in Nepal: Youth dies in disturbance, curfew imposed in 3 districts bordering India

In the neighboring country Nepal, violence suddenly broke out during the Kanwar Yatra being taken out in the holy month of Sawan. The altercation that started between the two communities/groups soon turned violent, following which incidents of stone pelting and vandalism were reported in the area. A local youth was seriously injured in this tragic incident, who died during treatment. There is huge tension in the entire area since the incident. Curfew implemented in 3 districts bordering India. As soon as the news of the youth's death spread, angry crowds took to the streets and the situation started getting out of control. To control the deteriorating situation and law and order, the local administration took immediate action and imposed indefinite curfew in 3 sensitive districts adjacent to the India-Nepal border. After the imposition of curfew, security forces have taken out a flag march on the streets and people are being appealed to stay indoors. Vigil increased on India-Nepal border: Indian security agencies and Border Security Force (SSB) have also been put on alert mode after curfew was implemented in the border districts. Intensive checking: People moving across the border are being rigorously searched and identity cards are being checked. Deploying additional forces: Additional police forces have been deployed on the border to prevent any untoward incident or infiltration of anti-social elements. Administrative vigilance: There is constant contact between the border officials of the two countries so that peace and order can be maintained. According to Nepali Police, the miscreants involved in the disturbance are being identified and CCTV footage is being scrutinized. Internet services have also been partially banned to control the situation.
