The government has given its green signal to the Chief Minister Home Stay Incentive Scheme. With the launch of this scheme, now the common people of Bihar are going to get a great opportunity to earn big money from their own home. If you have a house or land near the major tourist places of Bihar, then you can take full advantage of this scheme and convert your old or new house into a homestay.

Heavy subsidy will be available on every room

The biggest feature of this scheme is that the government is providing huge financial help to the landlords. If you fall under the general category, you can get a total help of up to Rs 10 lakh from the government. The government has made special provisions for women, self-help groups and youth of eighteen to twenty-five years. These categories will be given additional assistance of twenty-five thousand rupees, due to which their total assistance amount can reach eleven lakh rupees.

Target to build one thousand rooms in 5 years

The Tourism Department of Bihar Government is very serious about this scheme. The government has set a big target of developing one thousand new rooms as homestays in the state within the next five years. The government believes that this step will not only promote rural tourism, but people living in villages and small towns will get excellent means of employment and self-employment in their own areas. Tourists coming from outside will also get a chance to see and understand the culture of Bihar closely.

Who can apply and what are the conditions?

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the government has set some very easy conditions. The homestay will be a place where maximum eight rooms are available for tourists to stay. The good thing about this scheme is that it is not necessary for the landlord to live in the same premises. If you have houses in more than one place, you can also open more than one homestay at different addresses, the government will give benefits to each unit. However, it is important to keep in mind that the land or house should not be entangled in any kind of legal dispute. This scheme will be applicable only on homestays, no hotel, resort, motel or guest house will be given the benefit of this scheme.

The scheme will be implemented in these places

Bihar government has implemented this scheme in the first phase for thirty-four major tourist destinations in sixteen districts of the state. Your homestay should be within a radius of five kilometers of these designated tourist destinations. The Tourism Department will reserve the right to add new tourist destinations to this list or make changes in the future.
