Samrat Choudhary Oath Ceremony: The Bharatiya Janata Party, which has prepared its ground in the political courtyard of Bihar for years by living under the shadow of alliance, has today achieved what once seemed only a dream. Samrat Chaudhary took oath as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar and took charge of the state in a ceremony organized at the historic Lok Bhavan in Patna. Where Nitish Kumar remained the pole of power for more than two decades. Today the walls of Lok Bhavan have heard the echo of a new resolution, which is going to decide the direction and condition of the state in the times to come.
Samrat Chaudhary has taken the oath of office and secrecy as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar. This is such a historic turning point in the politics of Bihar which the Bharatiya Janata Party workers were waiting for for the last several decades. The presence of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar there also attracted everyone’s attention.
Governor administered oath of secrecy
Preparations for the swearing-in were in full swing since morning. The distance from Raj Bhavan to Lok Bhavan was turned into an impenetrable circle of security. As soon as Samrat Chaudhary reached the venue, the echo of cheers filled the atmosphere with new energy. Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered him the oath of office as Chief Minister, with which he became the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar. This is a big achievement for BJP because for the first time in an important state like Bihar, the party is going to run the government under its leadership.
Grand coronation of BJP’s first Chief Minister
A new history was created at Lok Bhavan in Patna at exactly 11 am on Wednesday when Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office to Samrat Chaudhary as the Chief Minister. This is the first time in the political journey of Bihar that a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been successful in reaching the post of Chief Minister.

On this special occasion, a huge crowd of BJP workers had gathered outside Lok Bhavan and only enthusiastic sloganeering could be heard everywhere. Many senior leaders like BJP National President JP Nadda and Chirag Paswan were also specially present there.
New innings begins with Nitish’s blessings and two deputy CMs
The most emotional and discussed picture of the swearing-in ceremony came when Samrat Chaudhary touched the feet of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and took his blessings. Nitish Kumar himself had reached Lok Bhavan to attend this grand event, which is giving a big message of unity of the new government and the alliance. Along with Samrat Chaudhary, two senior leaders from the Janata Dal United quota, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, also took oath of office as deputy chief ministers.

Both these leaders are considered very trustworthy of Nitish Kumar and their long administrative experience will prove to be very helpful in the smooth functioning of the new government. Interesting thing is that there is a special similarity in the political career of all the three prominent leaders who took oath today that they started their journey from different parties.
Cabinet expansion will happen after assembly elections
At present, the new NDA government has started with only three ministers taking oath, while currently 33 ministers have been kept vacant in the cabinet. Samrat Chaudhary had met the Governor on Tuesday itself and presented a formal claim to form his government, after which complete preparations were made for his coronation today. In the coming days, the cabinet will be expanded by the Chief Minister and then new faces will be included and they will be given the responsibility of various departments.
Samrat Chaudhary’s political journey
The journey of Tarapur MLA Samrat Chaudhary to reach the post of Chief Minister has been quite a struggle and interesting. He started his political career with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, but eventually joined the BJP after being a part of parties like Hum Party and Janata Dal United.

Bijendra Yadav had also served as Minister of State for Energy during the tenure of Lalu Prasad and he stood firmly with JDU since the Janata Dal split in 1997.
