Bihar New CM: For the first time in Bihar, BJP’s Chief Minister, along with Samrat Chaudhary, two Deputy CMs will also take oath.

Bihar Cabinet Expansion: Today a morning has dawned in the political corridors of Bihar for which the Bharatiya Janata Party workers were waiting for decades. The way the administrative staff became active from the evening of 14th April itself, it had made it clear that Lok Bhavan was going to be the new center of power of Bihar.

That time of 11 am today is going to be recorded in golden letters in the political history of Bihar, when Samrat Chaudhary will take oath as CM. This is not just a swearing-in ceremony but also a formal announcement of the end of the two-decade-old era in Bihar in which Nitish Kumar was the lynchpin. BJP, which till now has always played the role of an ally in coalition politics, is going to sit in the driving seat for the first time today.

Got Chief Minister’s chair in a journey of just nine years

Samrat Chaudhary started his political career three decades ago, but his association with the Bharatiya Janata Party is only nine years old. In these nine years, on the basis of his organizational ability and vocal leadership, he made such a place for himself within the party that today he has been undisputedly elected the leader of the BJP Legislative Party and NDA alliance.

Talking about the political experience of Samrat Chaudhary, he was elected MLA for the first time 26 years ago. His administrative acumen can be gauged from the fact that he became the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar in 2024 and then took up the same responsibility again after the landslide victory in 2025. But destiny had decided something else for him. Today he is taking oath on the post which till now was held only by non-BJP parties.

Grand oath taking ceremony organized in Patna Lok Bhavan

To make this historical moment memorable, unprecedented preparations have been made at Lok Bhawan in Patna. Keeping in mind the dignity and security of this function, the Bihar government has put in all its strength at the administrative level. Specially, 20 senior officers have been deployed who will work as liaison officers. The responsibility of these officers is not only to look after the local arrangements but also to host the Chief Ministers, Union Ministers and other distinguished guests coming from the neighboring states.

According to the order issued by the government, all these officers are ready for their duty since April 14 so that there is no shortage of any kind in the function. The security arrangements around Lok Bhavan are such that even a bird cannot hit them. Police forces have been deployed at every nook and corner and special routes have been prepared for VIP movement. This administrative promptness shows that the new government wants to give the message of discipline and management from its very first day.

There will be a big expansion of Bihar cabinet after Bengal elections

A special thing about this swearing-in ceremony to be held today is that only three people will take the oath of secrecy. For the time being, the government will start with Samrat Chaudhary as the Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers. There is discussion in political circles that the full expansion of the cabinet will not be done yet. There is a big strategic reason behind this. It is believed that the work of distribution of portfolios of ministers in Bihar and inclusion of new faces will be done only after May 5.

The main reason behind this is the election results of West Bengal. The BJP leadership wants that based on the results of Bengal elections, the caste and regional equations should be rebalanced in Bihar also. Despite this delay, Samrat Chaudhary has already started meetings with the officials to ensure that there is no impact on the functioning of the administration.
