Bihar News: The government has emphasized on many important points in the direction of increasing the income of farmers in Bihar and connecting agriculture with modern technology. Held in New Delhi 97th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha expressed the need to take the benefits of agricultural research directly to the farmers' fields. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Ministers of State and Agriculture Ministers of various states attended the meeting.
Issues like agricultural research, natural farming, modern technology, seed production, farmers' income and youth participation in agriculture sector were discussed in the meeting.

The Agriculture Minister expressed the need for special grants to promote seed production and use of natural fertilizers. He talked about providing grants, training, markets and fair prices to farmers for the production of chemical-free crops, vegetables, fruits, pulses and oilseeds.
Emphasis was also laid on linking small and marginal farmers with cooperative societies, so that farmers can collectively purchase agricultural inputs and strengthen their position from production to marketing.
Preparation to connect youth and women with modern farming
