Bihar News: Huge ruckus among students in Patna, situation out of control-police fired tear gas shells

Amrit Thoughts: There was a huge uproar in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Candidates who reached Patna to appear for Bihar Police Prohibition Constable Recruitment Examination got angry over the delay in trains. On Sunday, their protest turned violent at Patilputra Railway Station. Amidst stone pelting, severe vandalism took place at the railway station. When the situation went out of control, the police resorted to lathi charge. There has been aerial firing and tear gas shells.

Thousands of students were waiting for the train at Patilputra Railway Station for Bihar Police Prohibition Constable Recruitment Examination. The train was running late, due to which the students got angry. A crowd of angry students reached the railway track. Protests started. The students raised the demand that they should be taken to the examination centers through special trains.

Local officials were defeated by the anger of the students. The railway system and operation of trains started deteriorating. Many trains remained stuck till night. On the other hand, the officials were somehow trying to pacify the students. Meanwhile the atmosphere deteriorated and stone pelting started.

The uncontrollable crowd of students started rioting. When the situation went out of control due to vandalism and stone pelting at the railway station, the police showed strictness here. The crowd was dispersed by using sticks. Even when the situation did not come under control, tear gas shells were fired along with aerial firing. At present the situation is under control and the police remain active. The police administration is busy investigating the entire incident.
