India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday has issued a yellow alert regarding rain, strong winds, thunder and lightning in many districts including Patna. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert during bad weather.

Chances of rain in many districts including Patna

According to the Meteorological Department, it may remain cloudy throughout the day in the capital Patna on Friday. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder in many areas. Apart from this, rain has also been predicted in many districts of North and South Bihar. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

More impact in these districts

According to the forecast, rain activities may increase in many districts including Jamui, Munger, Banka, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Rohtas and Kaimur. There is also a possibility of heavy rain at some places. In view of the thunderstorm and lightning, the Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid standing in open fields and under trees.

Next 48 hours will be important

Meteorologists say that there may be further increase in rainfall activities in the state between July 5 and 7. During this period, there is a possibility of heavy rain and strong winds in many districts. Due to the effect of monsoon, a drop in temperature is being recorded, due to which people have got relief from the heat.

Advice for farmers also

Weather experts have advised farmers to do farming work keeping the weather in mind. Farmers who have irrigation facilities can prepare nurseries of medium duration paddy varieties. It has also been advised to avoid working in the fields during rain and thunderstorms.
