Patna. The weather is going to change once again in Bihar. On August 14, 2026, there may be rain, thunder and lightning in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for many districts of north-west, south-west and south-central Bihar. During this period, there is a possibility of strong winds along with rain at some places.
This change in weather can be seen due to the influence of weather systems formed in the Bay of Bengal and surrounding areas. The low pressure area formed near coastal West Bengal and Bangladesh has now transformed into a deep depression. In its next phase, it is likely to move towards the west and north-west through the Ganga plains. Its effect can also be seen on the weather of Bihar.
Danger of thunderstorms along with rain in these areas
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there may be rain at some places in North-West Bihar, West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran. People have been advised to remain alert in view of the possibility of inclement weather with thunderstorms in these areas.
There are chances of rainfall at some places in Rohtas, Kaimur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Arwal and Aurangabad in south-west Bihar. There may also be rain in Patna, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Nawada, Gaya, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura and Begusarai of South-Central Bihar.
Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Madhubani of North-Central Bihar. There may also be rain at some places in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura and Saharsa of North-East Bihar.
There are signs of change in weather in Jamui, Munger, Banka, Khagaria and Bhagalpur of south-east Bihar and there is a possibility of rain at one or two places.
Winds can blow up to 40 kilometers per hour
With rain, weather patterns may change suddenly in some parts of Bihar. There is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of about 30 to 40 kilometers per hour during thunderstorms and lightning. In such a situation, people living in open fields, fields or under trees will need to take special precautions.
