Kathmandu. Flash floods in northern Nepal on Wednesday morning caused massive destruction in border settlements and high alert was issued in many low-lying districts. The officers provided this information. He said that there was a sudden flood in the Bhote Koshi river at around 9 am local time.
It is being told that the water came from Tibet. Nepal Army said in a statement that the sudden rise of water caused heavy damage in Timure and nearby Syafrubesi area of Rasuwa district and vehicles, goods and other property were washed away.
Concern increased in Bihar

Flood came from Tibet
Rasuwa district is located north-east of Kathmandu and about 125 kilometers from the Tibet border. Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has appealed to the people living on the river banks of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and Gorkha to remain extremely vigilant and take safety measures till further orders.
Dhruv Prasad Adhikari, assistant chief district officer of Rasuwa, said the flood level was unusually high and both settlements had suffered significant damage. Rasuwa Chief Customs Officer Rajendra Dhungana said that many vehicles and goods kept in the customs premises were washed away in the water. A recently built bridge was also washed away.
Army took charge
The Prime Minister's Office said that in view of the severe floods, Nepal Army, Armed Police Forces and Nepal Police personnel have been deployed in Rasuwa and surrounding areas to intensify rescue and relief operations. According to the Prime Minister's Office, a high-level meeting is being called to discuss the situation after the floods and take necessary steps to deal with it.
Water level increased in Trishuli
Nepal Army has sent two helicopters to conduct search and rescue operations in the areas around Trishuli river. The Army said in a statement that an MI-17 helicopter equipped with an emergency medical rescue team has been dispatched to the district hospital at Trishuli.
However, Nepal Army said that the complete details of the damage caused by the severe floods are not yet available and the work of collecting data related to the damage is going on. Exactly a year ago, floods in Bhotekoshi had caused massive destruction and at least 10 people had died in Rasuwa. According to the Hydrology and Meteorology Department, the flood that occurred on Wednesday was not due to the rain in Rasuwa.
