A very heartbreaking and horrifying road accident took place in Telangana’s Suryapet district early Wednesday morning. A private travel bus traveling from Hyderabad to Eluru rammed into the back of an oncoming container full of iron bars near Dharakunta in Suryapet’s Kodad mandal. The collision was so ferocious and horrific that the heavy iron bars protruding from the container broke the front glass and bonnet of the bus and penetrated deep into the passenger seats.
In this tragic accident, 5 passengers died tragically on the spot, while more than 20 people were seriously injured. After the collision, the front of the bus was reduced to a bloody wreck and the entire area echoed with the screams of the passengers. As soon as the incident was reported, the local police and rescue teams immediately reached the spot. The police took a lot of effort for more than an hour to pull out the injured trapped in the bus with the help of JCB and cutters.
All the injured have been immediately shifted to nearby hospitals after first aid, where some of the passengers are said to be in critical condition. The Gozara accident caused a traffic jam on the Hyderabad-Vijaywada National Highway for hours. The police removed the accident vehicles from the road with the help of a crane and restored traffic. At present, the police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation to find out the exact cause of the accident.
