Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Sujata Rout today attended the World Indigenous Peoples Day programme held at Sankha Bhawan here today and highlighted the tribal heritage, empowerment and Gen Z.
Sujata Rout said the occasion was not only about celebrating the rich culture and traditions of tribal communities but also about discussing their rights, empowerment and future. She highlighted their traditional knowledge, folk songs, history, bravery and cultural heritage, saying these must be preserved and promoted.
Sujata said the BJD has always believed in service-oriented politics and empowerment-based governance. Referring to the Naveen Patnaik government’s initiatives, she said the Special Development Councils helped strengthen tribal roots and heritage while also giving tribal communities opportunities to progress, showcase their talent and make their voices heard.
She also underlined the importance of the younger generation, saying, “Gen Z is the future of our country and state. We are proud of them. Biju Janata Dal stands firmly behind Gen Z.”
