Digital governance promoted, Rekha Gupta government reduced processing time of 84 government services

Delhi Government has taken a big step towards making government services faster, simpler and transparent than before. The government has decided to reduce the processing time of 84 government services available under the single window system. The aim of the government is that citizens and businessmen have to wait less for government work and more and more services can be provided in a timely, online and transparent manner. This decision will speed up the disposal of services related to various departments. Besides, by making the application process more convenient, the need for people to make repeated visits to government offices will also be reduced.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that this decision to speed up and simplify the process of government services has been taken in Priority Area-21 under Deregulation Exercise – Phase II. For this, the Information Technology (IT) Department conducted a detailed study of the services available through the single window system. According to the Chief Minister, during the study, the entire process from submission of application till final approval was analyzed. It attempted to identify which services’ processing time could be reduced by simplifying processes and reducing unnecessary steps.

Under this review, 95 major government services of 18 departments were evaluated. Based on this, the government has decided to reduce the processing period of 84 services available under the single window system. Through the single window system, citizens and businesses can apply for licenses, permits, approvals and other government services on a single online portal. This eliminates the need to visit different departments and makes government services available in a faster, transparent and convenient manner.

After reviewing the single window system, the Delhi government has made changes in many administrative procedures, due to which the processing of 84 government services has become much faster than before. According to the government, some of these services are now being made available instantly. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that with this initiative, doing business in Delhi will become easier, delays in government work will reduce and the entire system will become more transparent, effective and accountable. He said that the government wants to make access to government services easier for both citizens and businesses by making better use of technology. Along with this, administrative procedures are also being continuously simplified, so that people have to face minimum hassle while carrying out government work. According to the Chief Minister, this initiative is an important step towards strengthening e-governance, accelerating service delivery and creating a better environment for investment and business.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government aims to further strengthen digital governance, so that government services can be provided to the citizens in a fast, transparent manner and without any unnecessary hassle. He said that the government is continuously working to promote technology-based administration. In this direction, the Information Technology (IT) Department is emphasizing on adopting new technologies and better practices to make government services more effective and citizen-friendly. The Chief Minister said that the Department of Information Technology will continue to work in future also to further strengthen citizen-centric governance through technology-based solutions and improvements in administrative processes.
