Life changed at the age of 12
Raju Kumar’s childhood was not easy. His father died when he was just 12 years old, after which the financial responsibility of the family increased. It was a challenge to continue his studies amidst limited resources, but he did not give up in front of the circumstances. Mother encouraged him at every step and inspired him to move forward.
Got a railway job, but my dream was to become an officer.
While preparing for competitive examinations, Raju was selected for the post of Group-D Pointsman in Indian Railways. His duties were related to railway gate and track operation, which required working for about 12 hours daily. Even after getting the job, he did not give up his big goal.
Studies started as soon as duty was over
Despite the tiredness of the day, Raju used to find time to study every day. The financial condition was not such that he could resort to expensive coaching, so he made self-study his biggest weapon. He strengthened his preparation with the help of deep understanding of the syllabus, regular practice and discipline.
Achieved 72nd rank without coaching
The result of continuous hard work was seen in the 70th BPSC exam. Raju Kumar secured 72nd rank and was selected for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). This success is a great inspiration for those youth who consider their dreams small due to limited resources.
Gave credit for success to mother and family
After becoming DSP, Raju gave the biggest credit for his success to his mother and family. He says that in difficult times, the faith of his family and self-confidence kept him moving forward.

Raju Kumar believes that for success in competitive exams, what is required is not expensive coaching, but right strategy, discipline and continuous hard work. His message is to keep the goals clear, move forward little by little every day and keep trying without being afraid of failures.
