But now he has overcome the injury and is completely fit and has reached India as a part of 'Australia-A' team to regain his rhythm. Great comeback after serious hamstring injury

The past few times have been full of ups and downs for Brendan Doggett. He remained away from the field for months due to a hamstring injury suffered in February. Talking about his fitness, Doggett said at an event organized in Chennai, “My body is in very good condition right now. I have been bowling consistently with full strength for the last two months and everything feels under control.” This tour of India will be his first professional cricket assignment after the injury, where both his body and form will be put to a tough test.

'India A' series will pave the way for Test team

Australia-A team has to play 2 four-day (first class) matches against India-A in Puducherry. These matches will be played entirely in Puducherry from 22 September to 11 October. Doggett believes that this is the best platform to adapt himself to the challenging conditions of India and prove his form in front of the selectors. Playing in the extreme heat and humidity of India after a winter season in Australia is not easy, and Doggett and his team have worked especially hard to adapt to the heat.

Called Border-Gavaskar Trophy the biggest challenge

Doggett recalled his childhood days regarding the challenge of playing Test cricket in India. Speaking to the ICC, he said, “Hopefully I will be able to be a part of the Border-Gavaskar Test team. As an Australian, this is one of the biggest series. Having grown up watching Test cricket in India, playing there looks like a real struggle. It is a very different and difficult challenge to the conditions in Australia and England.
