Another case of terror by stray dogs has come to light in Sangam Vihar area of North Delhi. 18 month old Abbas was suddenly attacked by a stray dog while playing outside his house in street number-5. The dog threw the child on the ground and badly scratched many parts of his face and body. Seriously injured Abbas was admitted to the ICU of the hospital, where his condition is currently said to be out of danger.
Dog attack captured in CCTV
After the CCTV footage of the incident surfaced, the anger of the people in the area has increased. In the footage, the dog is seen continuously attacking the child by throwing him on the ground. Hearing the scream of the child, nearby people and family members reached the spot and saved his life by driving away the dog. After this the child was taken to the hospital for immediate treatment.

The child has suffered serious injuries on his face and body. Doctors have advised plastic surgery in view of facial injuries. The family is worried about the child's treatment and are hoping for his speedy recovery.
Municipal Corporation started action
After the incident, the Municipal Corporation team took action in Sangam Vihar area and rescued some stray dogs and sent them to a safe place. However, according to local people, the dog which attacked Abbas has not been caught yet. This has caused concern to the people living in the area.
Local people demanded permanent solution
Abbas's father Israj Khan, an auto driver, said rules and court directions exist regarding protection from stray dogs, but effective monitoring is not being done at the local level. He has demanded quick capture of the attacking dog along with regular monitoring in the narrow streets and a permanent arrangement to control the dog population. The local people have also appealed to the MLA to make necessary security arrangements from his own funds.
