A very big and wonderful good news has come from the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for the youth preparing for government jobs. Railways has released the official advertisement of bumper recruitment for a total of 3,477 posts under Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) Graduate Level. This recruitment of Railways is considered to be one of the biggest and popular recruitments in the country, for which lakhs of youth eagerly wait every year.
RRB has released the indicative advertisement for this NTPC graduate level recruitment of the year 2026 with CEN number 06/2026. Through this recruitment, excellent posts of pay level Level-5 and Level-6 will be filled in Railways. Important dates and application process
The online application process for this recruitment of Railways will start from 8th October 2026. Any interested and eligible candidates who want to apply for these posts can easily submit their online application by visiting the official website rrbapply.gov.in till 11:59 pm on 6th November 2026.
Let us tell you that through this recruitment last year, selection was made on important posts like Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Station Master, Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist and Traffic Assistant. Educational qualification and age limit rules
To apply for these posts of RRB NTPC, it is mandatory for the candidate to have a graduation degree in any subject from any recognized university.
If we talk about age limit, then for all these posts the minimum age has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age at 33 years. Apart from this, as per government rules, SC and ST category candidates will be given 5 years relaxation in the maximum age limit, while OBC category candidates will get the benefit of 3 years relaxation.
Complete Pattern of Selection Process and Exam
Based on the pattern of previous recruitments, this time also the selection process will be completed in several stages, which are as follows:
- First Stage (CBT-1): This will be a common examination for all posts. A total of 100 multiple choice questions will be asked in this 90-minute examination, in which 40 questions will be from General Awareness, 30 questions from Maths and 30 questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning.
- Second Stage (CBT-2): This exam will also be of 90 minutes in which there will be a total of 120 questions. There will be 50 questions from General Awareness, 35 from Maths and 35 from Reasoning. Candidates will be shortlisted for CBT-2 on the basis of normalized score of CBT-1.
- Skill Test: After both the CBTs, there will be Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Whereas, Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) will be taken for the posts of Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Assistant cum Typist.
- Other Steps: After this finally there will be document verification and medical examination.
- Negative Marking: There will be a provision of negative marking of one-third (1/3) marks for each wrong answer in both the CBT examinations.
Information related to application fee and refund
For these posts, general category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 500, however, Rs 400 will be refunded to the candidates who will appear in the CBT-1 examination. At the same time, the application fee for SC, ST, women, EBC and disabled category candidates has been fixed at Rs 250, and their entire Rs 250 will be refunded on participating in the CBT-1 examination.
Advertisement for recruitment on 30 thousand Group D posts possible next month
Not only NTPC, but Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has also started preparations afresh to fill the Level-One i.e. various Group D vacant posts for the year 2026. An official advertisement for new recruitment on about 30,000 to 32,000 posts across the country can be issued by the Railway Board in the month of September or October itself. There is every possibility that the application process for this will also start before December.
To start this new recruitment, complete details of vacant posts have been sought from all the zonal railways and production units of the country. This will include various posts like Trackmanter-Four, Pointsman-B, Assistant Signal and Telecom (S&T), Assistant Carriage and Wagon, Assistant Loco Shed (Diesel and Electrical), Assistant P-Way, Assistant Track Machine and Assistant Bridge.
