Capital ready to welcome Kanwadis, CM Rekha Gupta gave instructions to ensure 24×7 facilities
Kanwar Yatra Delhi: The Delhi government has completed extensive preparations to welcome and provide facilities to the Shiv devotee Kanwariyas who reach Delhi with Ganga water from Haridwar and other holy places in the month of Sawan. In the high-level review meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the preparations of various departments to make the Kanwar Yatra safe, easy and respectful were reviewed. In the meeting, security arrangements, traffic management, cleanliness, drinking water, medical facilities, power supply and other necessary arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra were discussed in detail. The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments that the devotees should not face any kind of inconvenience and all arrangements should be ensured in a timely and coordinated manner.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that Kanwar Yatra is not just a religious event, but a living symbol of social unity and cultural heritage of India. He said that it is the resolve of the Delhi Government that every Shiva devotee coming to the capital should feel safe, respected and surrounded by affection. The Chief Minister directed the officials that all preparations for the Kanwar Yatra should be done with a spirit of service and better coordination should be ensured between various departments, so that the devotees do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. He said that during the yatra, security, cleanliness, transport, medical care, drinking water and other essential facilities should be continuously monitored and all concerned agencies should work in mutual coordination.
Kanwadis will be given a grand welcome on the main roads of Delhi
The Delhi government has made special preparations to welcome the Shiva devotees entering the capital during the Kanwar Yatra. Grand welcome gates will be built by the government at the major entry routes of Delhi and on the Kanwar Yatra routes, so that the devotees can be welcomed in a traditional and respectful manner. Apart from this, arrangements will also be made to shower flowers on Shiva devotee Kanwadis at various places. The government says that the purpose of these events is to honor the devotees and promote their religious enthusiasm. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will also welcome the Kanwariyas herself by reaching various places in the capital during the Kanwar Yatra.
Single window system implemented for Kanwar committees
For smooth conduct of Kanwar Yatra, Delhi Government has implemented single window system for Kanwar Committees. The objective of this system is to provide permissions and other administrative facilities to the committees in a time bound manner. Under the new system, Kanwar committees will not have to visit different departments. All necessary permission and coordination related work will be completed through a single platform, making the process simple, transparent and fast.
Facilities will be available 24 hours in Kanwar camps
To ensure the convenience of the devotees during the Kanwar Yatra, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has given instructions to maintain 24-hour cleanliness in all the Kanwar camps. He said that adequate number of high quality mobile toilets should be installed in the camps and the concerned agencies should ensure their regular cleaning and maintenance. To strengthen the health services, doctors and health workers will be deployed in different shifts in the camps, so that medical assistance can be provided to the devotees day and night. Along with this, necessary health resources will also be available to deal with any emergency.
The government has also given instructions to make special arrangements to deal with the problem of clean drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and waterlogging during rains in the camps, so that the Kanwariyas do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. The Chief Minister gave clear instructions to the officials that during the Kanwar Yatra, the safety, cleanliness and facilities of the devotees should not be compromised at any level, so that the Yatra can be completed peacefully with devotion, service and well-organized arrangements.
