Central government is fencing the 1610 km long Myanmar border: Home Minister Amit Shah

New Delhi, 9 July. Addressing the Frontier District Superintendents of Police Conference-2026 in New Delhi on Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this conference has institutionalized the approach of holistic border security and in the coming times, we will move forward holistically towards ensuring coastal border security. In this conference, the problems related to the security of the borders will be discussed, the work will be done to solve them and to give a policy shape to the appropriate measures in this direction.

Modi government is spending Rs 31 thousand crore on fencing

Amit Shah said that the Modi government is fencing the 1610 km long Myanmar border worth Rs 31 thousand crores. He said that our objectives are to stop proxy war, infiltration, spread of radicalism, narcotics, smuggling, drones, cyber crime, organized crime and demographic changes, make the border livable and stop migration from there and ensure security.

In future, India’s border security system will be the most modern in the world.

He said that India’s border security system, based on the concept of smart border, will be the most modern in the world in the coming times. The Modi Government is building a strong quadrilateral security grid with the interconnectedness of allied border guarding forces, state and district administrations, relevant stakeholders of the Government of India and local citizens. The country can be secure only with a secure border, a prosperous frontier and an alert society.

Under the leadership of PM Modi, the country got relief from terrorism and Naxalism in Jammu-Kashmir and North-East.

Home Minister Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has got freedom from terrorism and Naxalism in Jammu and Kashmir and the North-East, which is an indicator of our common success. He said, ‘In the coming three years, we will overcome the problem of narcotics by causing serious damage to it. We are building a strong system to make the country free from infiltrators and to prevent infiltration from happening.

Modi government is making the solutions permanent by attacking the root of the problems.

Amit Shah said that earlier the problems were permanent and the solutions were temporary, in the Modi government the solutions are being made permanent by attacking the root of the problems. He said that the Modi government has taken it forward with a scientific approach by increasing the border infrastructure by 400 percent. Under the Vibrant Villages Programme, Prime Minister Modi has called the last village of the country the first village of the country, under this, 100 percent implementation of government schemes is being ensured to stop migration, increase employment and so on.

Infiltration is the root cause of demographic changes taking place in border areas.

Home Minister Shah said that Modi ji has started the Demography Mission to study the demographic change, identify the increase in it due to unusual reasons and suggest measures to stop it in future. He said that it is the resolve of the Modi government to stop the increase in demography due to abnormal reasons with a ruthless approach. He said that the main reason for the demographic change taking place in the border areas is infiltration.

Construction of quadrilateral security grid to make border security impenetrable

Shah said that to make the border security impenetrable, the Modi government has created a quadrilateral security grid, due to which we have changed our approach from reactive to proactive. Modi government is moving towards creating an integrated security grid with the system of isolated border posts. He stressed the importance of conveying information about changes in demographics due to unusual reasons in border areas from the lowest to the highest level as soon as possible.
