Central government’s decision: 1 big good news for the countrymen
New Delhi. The central government has taken a big step towards reducing dependence on petrol and diesel in India. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed about approving the use of 100 percent ethanol fuel. The government aims to promote alternative energy sources in the country and reduce dependence on foreign fossil fuels.
100% ethanol use approved
According to Nitin Gadkari, rules have been finalized to promote ethanol based fuel. He said that now the use of 100 percent ethanol has been legally approved. The government believes that farmers, biofuel industry and automobile sector can also benefit from this.
First there was criticism, now confidence increased
Gadkari said that when he had talked about promoting ethanol as an alternative to petrol, many people had raised questions on the idea. But with time there has been rapid progress in the country regarding ethanol blending. India has met the target of blending ethanol in petrol ahead of schedule, strengthening the government’s plans for alternative fuels.
E85 fuel also launched in India
The government has also recently started promoting E85 fuel. However, this fuel is only for vehicles that are compatible with E85 flex-fuel technology. The share of ethanol in petrol has increased significantly in the last few years as part of the plan to increase ethanol blending. The government aims to advance clean and alternative energy in the country.
Farmers can also get benefit
Ethanol is mainly produced from sugarcane, corn and other agricultural products. Its increasing use can provide new markets to the agricultural sector and help in increasing the income of farmers. This decision of the Central Government can bring a big change in India’s fuel sector in the coming years. However, vehicle technology, fuel availability and consumer acceptance will also play an important role for this.
Companies are bringing ethanol based vehicles
Vehicle manufacturing companies are also preparing to promote ethanol fuel. In the coming time, many companies may introduce vehicles that will work with 100 percent ethanol or flex-fuel technology. This will give people new fuel options and can reduce their dependence on traditional petrol.
