Chaos in the Gulf of Hormuz: Ship attacked amid Iran-Israel war, 24 Indians stranded
Very disturbing news is coming out from the Middle East at this time. The ceasefire that has been going on between Iran and Israel for two months has finally broken and both the countries have started fierce attacks on each other. The flames of this great war have now reached the sea and a big commercial ship has been targeted in the world’s busiest sea route ‘Strait of Hormuz’. The most worrying thing is that there are 24 Indian sailors on board this affected ship, whose lives are currently in deep danger. Forward Siemens Union of India has shared a very scary video on its social media handle ‘X’, in which black smoke can be clearly seen rising from the ship near the coast of Oman. These Indian sailors stranded on the ship are requesting immediate help from the Indian Navy to save their lives. Let us tell you that the Strait of Hormuz is considered the lifeline of the world’s oil trade, because about 20 percent of the total oil trade of the entire world passes through this narrow route.
Iran’s new maneuver amid war: Hormuz will remain open, but will have to pay heavy toll tax
On one hand, while ships are being attacked in the Gulf of Hormuz, on the other hand, Iran has issued a big statement regarding this route. Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali has made it clear that despite the tension, the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ will not be closed. However, he also added that now new conditions will be applicable for ships passing through here, which may also include a heavy transit fee (toll tax). In an interview with a Russian newspaper, Jalali said that the Strait of Hormuz will definitely remain open for ships, but the new conditions for its operation will now be decided jointly by the officials of Iran and Oman. He argued that Iran and Oman provide many essential services related to this sea strait to international ships, hence now a heavy fee will be charged in return for these services, although he has not openly given information about the amount of this tax.
Indian government issues strict advisory: ‘Evacuate Iran immediately’
In view of the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East, the Indian government has come on full alert mode. The Indian Embassy in Iran has issued a very important and strict advisory for Indian citizens living and traveling there. In this advisory, Indian citizens have been clearly advised to completely avoid traveling to Iran for the time being. Along with this, Indian citizens who are currently present in different parts of Iran have been asked to exit the country as soon as possible through any available means or route. This emergency step has been taken when a direct war between Iran and Israel has started. Earlier, during the ceasefire, Israel had not directly attacked Iran, rather it had only targeted its bases in Lebanon to weaken the Iran-backed Hezbollah, but now the situation has gone out of control.
