ChatGPT will now understand your medical reports, will provide personal health support by connecting with Apple Health
Technology Desk – OpenAI has introduced a new health feature in ChatGPT, which allows users to connect their Apple Health data and supported medical records to ChatGPT. After this facility, ChatGPT will understand your health related information and respond accordingly. Currently, this feature is made available in the US for logged-in users 18 years of age or older on web and iOS platforms.
ChatGPT will explain medical reports in simple language
Often, lab reports or blood test results are not easy for common people to understand. Through the new feature, ChatGPT will be able to explain the medical report in simple language. If your new report is different from the previous report, it will also be able to compare the two and show the changes. It will also help in what questions should be discussed before meeting the doctor.

Apple Health data will provide better health support
If users connect Apple Health and supported medical records to ChatGPT with their permission, it will respond to information such as medications, allergies, recent medical visits, lab reports, sleep, and daily activity. With this, there will be no need to upload medical records every time or tell the entire health history again. User can also access their health information by typing @Health in chat.
Everyday health planning will also become easier
This feature is not limited to just explaining medical reports. If a user asks about food, diet, or a restaurant, ChatGPT can provide suggestions taking into account their food allergies or dietary restrictions. At the same time, looking at the data of sleep, workout and physical activity will also help in creating a better health routine.
There will be complete control over privacy and data security
OpenAI says that health data will not be used without the user’s permission. According to the company, information related to Apple Health and medical records will not be used to train AI models or show advertisements. Health data will be kept secure with additional encryption. If a user disconnects their Health account, data synced from that source will be deleted within 30 days. However, earlier chats will remain safe until the user deletes them himself.
GPT-5.6 will give better health explanation than before
According to OpenAI, the new GPT-5.6 model has been put through several health-related tests with the collaboration of hundreds of doctors. The company claims that this model performs better than before in explaining medical information in simple language, suggesting important questions and advising to contact a doctor if needed. However, the company has clarified that ChatGPT is not a substitute for a doctor and for any serious health decision, it is necessary to consult an expert doctor.
