Chhattisgarh News: A new initiative has started in the state towards including Chhattisgarhi language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Governor Ramen Deka Chhattisgarhi linguists met at Lok Bhawan on Tuesday. During this, there was a detailed discussion regarding the conservation, promotion, development of Chhattisgarhi language and giving it constitutional recognition. Taking positive initiative in this direction, the Governor has said that a committee will be formed.
Discussion on history and literature of Chhattisgarhi
Linguists informed the Governor about the antiquity of Chhattisgarhi language, rich literary tradition, grammar, dictionary and the process of standardization of the language. He told that Chhattisgarhi is the official language and main communication language of the state and a large number of people use it in daily life.
According to linguists, there has been a tradition of literary creation in Chhattisgarhi since the 15th century. Chhattisgarhi literature is available in various genres including poetry, short poetry, stories, novels, drama, criticism and journalism.
Committee will be formed for the eighth schedule
Governor Ramen Deka talked about constituting a committee for the development of Chhattisgarhi language and including it in the Eighth Schedule. This committee will systematically compile the history, literature, grammar, dictionary and other reference materials of Chhattisgarhi language.
For this, necessary information and suggestions will also be taken from language scholars and experts. In this context, the Governor also gave the example of inclusion of Assamese and Bodo languages in the Eighth Schedule.
Chhattisgarhi grammar was prepared in 1890
In the meeting, linguists also gave information about historical facts related to the development of Chhattisgarhi language. It was told that the grammar year of Chhattisgarhi 1890 While the first dictionary was prepared in 1939 Prepared in. Year 1924 The first Chhattisgarhi novel in 'Hiru's story' Was published.
Linguists also told that Pandit Sunderlal Sharma had published a handwritten Chhattisgarhi magazine from jail. 'Dularva' Was published. Through these examples the Governor was made aware of the old and rich literary tradition of Chhattisgarhi.
Language is being studied in universities also
Linguists said that Chhattisgarhi language is being studied at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the universities of the state. Under the National Education Policy, the process of including Chhattisgarhi in the curriculum from class 1st to 8th is also going on.
