FIR against director-manager of Vendata Group, 20 people died due to boiler explosion on April 14
A total of 20 people have died so far due to the boiler explosion in Chhattisgarh on April 14. 16 people are also injured in Hase, some of whom are undergoing treatment. This heart-wrenching incident took place in Sakti district of Chhattisgarh. On April 14, there was a boiler explosion at the Vedanta Power Plant in Singhitarai village, Dabhra in Sakti district. Negligence has come to light in this matter, due to which the police have taken strict action and registered a case against Vedanta Company Director Anil Aggarwal and Manager Devendra Patel and other officials.
Now know what is the whole matter
According to initial investigation by police and technical experts, there was an explosion in boiler number-1 of the plant at around 2.30 pm on April 14. The report of the Chief Inspector of Boiler and FSL revealed that excessive fuel had accumulated inside the boiler furnace. Due to the tremendous pressure created due to this, the lower pipe of the boiler was dislocated from its place. This caused a huge explosion and the workers present there did not even get a chance to handle it.

Negligence in maintenance of equipment revealed
The investigation report revealed that the maintenance and operation standards of the machinery were not followed by Vedanta Company and NGSL. Ignoring safety standards and carelessness in maintaining equipment led to such a major accident.
Collector ordered magisterial inquiry
In this matter, Sakti District Collector Amrit Vikas Topno said that orders have been given for a magisterial inquiry into the incident. Instructions have been given to provide better treatment to the injured. The bodies have been brought to Raigarh for post-mortem.

Case registered under these sections
Police have registered an FIR in the case under sections 106, 289 and 3(5) of the Indian Justice Code. The names of about 8 to 10 people are included in the FIR, due to which the names of Vedanta Group Chairman Aggarwal and the company’s senior management officer Patel have come to the fore. Officials made it clear that as the investigation progresses, more names may also come to light.

SIT formed
Considering the seriousness of the accident, the police-administration has formed a SIT. This team is being led by Additional SP Pankaj Patel. This team includes police, forensic experts and SDM. The purpose of forming this team is only to find out whether the reason for the accident was only a technical issue or there was some negligence of the system at the management level behind it. As the investigation is progressing. The matter does not appear to be just an accident but has become a big question on corporate safety standards.
