Ambala (Chandra Shekhar Dharani)- Media Wellbeing Association (MWB) has taken an important initiative to give a new direction to journalism in the era of changing technology. Artificial Intelligence (AI) training program for journalists will be launched by this organization on May 29 at Red Bishop, Panchkula. Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan will inaugurate the programme.
Formation of expert team for AI training
MWB has formed a team under the leadership of retired intelligence officer Dr. Manmohan Singh to provide AI training to journalists. Dr. Manmohan Singh has been the President of All India Samaj Seva Kendra for the last 27 years and is also the Chairman of Sanjha Radio. Apart from this, he is the Producer-Director of yestvee.in and also the author of 35 books.

Chandrashekhar Dharani, president of the Media Wellbeing Association, said it has become necessary to connect journalists with new technologies, especially AI. AI based technologies will become an important part of future journalism. Through this training program, journalists will be given information about the use of Artificial Intelligence, digital content creation, fact checking, and effective news writing.
Discussion on the challenges of modern journalism
Challenges of modern journalism will be discussed
During the programme, a seminar will be organized on the topic ‘Challenges in Modern Journalism’. It will include senior journalists from across the state, representatives of media institutions, social workers and prominent personalities from various fields. Issues like impact of digital media, fake news, pressure of social media, and safety of journalists will be discussed in the seminar.

Journalists will get free health and insurance policies
Dharani said that for the first time, free cashless health insurance policies will be distributed to journalists during the program. Along with this, the benefit of free accidental insurance policy and term insurance which has been running for the last five years will also be given to the journalists.

Dharani said that the organization has provided financial assistance to many needy journalists. After the death of Prasar Bharati advisor Gyanendra Bhartia, his family was given an assistance of Rs 10 lakh. Apart from this, journalists suffering from serious diseases like cancer have also been helped.

Senior journalists are respected
Dharani said that Media Wellbeing Association honors senior journalists above 60 years of age in Haryana in every program. Along with this, every year three journalists are given special honors for excellent journalism.

Dharani said that recently the organization has made many important demands from the government in the interest of journalists, such as abolishing the provision of withholding pension if an FIR is registered against a journalist.
