Bajaj Pulsar N160 S SS: Pulsar launched in new avatar, gets 4 riding modes and advanced features, know price and features

Bajaj Auto has expanded its Pulsar N160 range with the addition of two new variants – N160 S and N160 SS. Their ex-showroom prices in Delhi are ₹ 1,33,511 and ₹ 1,42,585 respectively. The existing 2-valve N160 will also continue to be sold alongside these new models. Both the new models have a 164.5 cc oil-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine.

This engine gives power of 18.5 PS and torque of 14.4 Nm, which is about 2.5 PS more powerful than the previous engine. It has Electronic Throttle Body (ETB), four ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road) and 'Crawl' technology. The N160 SS also includes traction control. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Color options include Atlantic Blue, Pearl Metallic White and Brooklyn Black.

Both the variants have a sporty look and offer better ergonomics and premium styling. These come with 37mm USD front forks (upgraded from 33mm) and larger 300mm front disc brakes. There are no changes to the wheelbase (1348mm), ground clearance (165mm), seat height (795mm) and curb weight (151kg), and the 14-litre fuel tank also remains the same.

Features and Security

The N160 S features an LCD instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The N160 SS features a 5-inch TFT display that features Google Maps mirroring (a first in a Bajaj sports bike), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and adjustable levers. Both models have four ride modes and 'Crawl Technology' (helps in smooth riding at low speeds). The N160 SS has been provided with responsive traction control, which helps in maintaining grip. Both bikes are expected to have dual-channel ABS. Braking and handling have been improved thanks to a larger front disc and upgraded suspension.

Engine and Performance
It has a new 164.5cc, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine which produces 18.5 PS of power and 14.4 Nm of torque. Coming with a 5-speed gearbox, this engine is said to be the most powerful and fastest in its segment, which can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Throttle response has been improved due to ETB technology.
