Delicious Modak Kheer Recipe

Festival of Ganesh Chaturthi and Modak Kheer

Today, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with great pomp across the country. On this special occasion, do not forget to offer Modak Kheer to Lord Ganesha. It is very simple to make and Lord Shri Ganesha especially likes it. Modak is one of their favorite indulgences, so making it on this day is a good option. Let us know its recipe.

Ingredients required for Modak Kheer

– Modak: 6 to 8
– Milk: 1 liter
– Cardamom powder: half teaspoon
– Cashews: 1 tablespoon
– Almonds: 1 tablespoon
– Sugar: as per taste

How to make Modak Kheer

-First of all prepare modak. If you want, you can also use modak purchased from the market. If you have pre-made modaks, cut them into small pieces so that they mix easily into the milk.

Now pour milk in a heavy bottomed vessel or pan and heat it on medium flame. Keep stirring the milk occasionally so that it does not stick to the bottom. Let the milk heat well.

– When the milk becomes hot, add chopped modaks to it. Now slow down the flame and cook the milk while stirring continuously. Let the modak soften slowly.

– Let the kheer cook for some time on low flame. Keep stirring it occasionally so that the milk does not stick to the bottom and the modaks get mixed well. If your modaks are already sweet, do not add extra sugar.

– After this add cardamom powder and you can add chopped cashews and almonds on top.

Cook the kheer until it becomes a little thick as per your choice. Keep in mind that the kheer will thicken further when it cools, so do not try to make it too thick.

– When the kheer is cooked well, turn off the gas and add chopped nuts on top. Your modak kheer is ready. Cool it a little or heat it slightly and offer it to Lord Ganesha.
