Tribute to Zubeen Garg on his death anniversary
Zubeen Garg's first death anniversary: Today has completed one year since the demise of famous Assam singer Zubeen Garg. On this occasion, his fans, family members, artists and AASU leaders gathered in Sonpur. Everyone together sang songs in the memory of the singer and paid tribute to him.

Fans and artists remembered his musical journey and social service. AASU Chief Advisor Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharya said that today we have come to pay tribute to Zubeen Garg. One year has passed since that unexpected incident. Zubeen Garg should get justice.

AASU President Utpal Sharma also presented his views. He said that today is a special day for Zubeen Garg, when he left us. His works will be celebrated throughout Assam. Future generations should know that it was artists like Zubeen Garg who made Bihu forums a place of protest against rhino poaching.
Zubeen Garg died on 19 September 2025 in Singapore. They were scheduled to perform at the Northeast India Festival. As a singer, composer and musician he recorded thousands of songs in many languages. He became recognized throughout the country with the song 'Ya Ali' from the Hindi film Gangster. This film of Kangana Ranaut made her popular even outside Assam.
Zubeen Garg remained associated with Assamese music and culture throughout his career. He combined traditional Assamese tunes with modern music. He will always be remembered as the voice of the Northeast. People still salute his musical legacy and humanitarian contribution.
