Dhanush's special day at 72nd National Film Awards
It was a memorable day for Dhanush at the 72nd National Film Awards. His film 'Captain Miller' received a Special Mention, while 'Rayan' won the Best Tamil Film title. President Draupadi Murmu honored the award winners at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat on September 22.
Dhanush gets special mention for 'Captain Miller'
Dhanush was given a special mention for Arun Matheswaran's period action film 'Captain Miller'. The film tells the story of a former soldier, set in pre-independence India, who is embroiled in a conflict between his people and British rule. The film also won the Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social and Environmental Values award, giving 'Captain Miller' two significant honors at the same ceremony.
'Rayan' became the best Tamil film
Another reason for Dhanush's happiness is his directorial film 'Rayan', which received the title of Best Tamil Film at the 72nd National Film Awards. Dhanush directed this film and also played the lead role. Through 'Rayan' he made his comeback as a director and presented its story in the backdrop of North Chennai. This honor made this year's National Awards even more special for Dhanush. 'Rayan' has been recognized as the best Tamil language film in the official winners list.
