Changes in Rajasthan's tourism
The tourism scenario of Rajasthan is changing rapidly. Between January to June 2026, 10.92 crore tourists visited the state, including 10.83 crore domestic and 8.44 lakh foreign tourists.
Sikar's increasing popularity in domestic tourism
Interestingly, Sikar has overtaken Jaipur to take the top spot in domestic tourism. The increase in the number of devotees visiting the religious places of Khatushyamji made this possible. In the first half of 2026, the number of domestic tourists in Sikar stood at 1,56,18,987.
Other attractions of Rajasthan
The historical heritage of Chittorgarh, the desert experience of Jaisalmer and the wildlife tourism of Sawai Madhopur are also attracting domestic tourists. It is clear that tourism is no longer limited to Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur only.
Choice of foreign tourists
For foreign tourists, Jaipur remained the most popular destination, with 2,56,293 foreign visits. After this, 1,84,045 foreign tourists came to Udaipur, 82,846 to Jodhpur and 66,433 to Jaisalmer. Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Dausa, Pali, Jhunjhunu and Bikaner also remain centers of attraction for foreign tourists.
