New Delhi, September 27 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has expressed gratitude to the Central Government on the decision of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) related to mobile recharge for providing relief to consumers. He said that this decision is good news for prepaid mobile users in India.
“The government has recently introduced 'Telecom Consumer Protection (Thirteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026', which will provide many facilities to customers,” MP Raghav Chadha wrote in a post on social media platform 'X'.
He said that with the 30 day recharge plan, the need to recharge 13 times in a year will reduce to 12 times. Additionally, there will be voice and SMS only plans for those who do not need data. Would be a better choice for low budget customers who mainly need basic voice calls.
In his post, Raghav Chadha said, “Many of you had shared your concerns with me about limited and inflexible recharge options. I raised this issue in Parliament on March 11 and demanded more choices and cheaper plans for customers. I am grateful to the Government of India and TRAI for addressing these concerns keeping in mind better choice and convenience for customers.”
The MP also shared a video, in which he expressed his happiness after the release of Telecom Consumer Protection (Thirteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026 by TRAI and said that the government has accepted all the demands.
Let us tell you that on March 11, 2026, Raghav Chadha had raised the problems of prepaid mobile users in the Parliament. He had said that there are 12 months in a year, but recharge has to be done 13 times through 28 days of recharge. Also said that many consumers do not use data. Also, Raghav Chadha raised this problem in the Parliament that after the recharge is over, the outgoing along with the incoming also stops.
