Veteran actor Nana Patekar passes away, heart attack at the age of 75

Country: Padma Shri awardee famous actor Nana Patekar died of a heart attack in Goa this morning. At the age of 75, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital, where several efforts were made to save him, but he left this world. His son Malhar confirmed the sad news. Nana Patekar was one of the most famous actors of Hindi and Marathi cinema.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, head of the oncology department of Manipal Hospital, Goa, said, 'Nana Patekar died at 5:20 am today due to severe cardiac arrest. Despite giving CPR for 45 minutes, he could not be saved. A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and postmortem will be conducted.

According to sources, he was found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula, Goa. Thereafter, he was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, where doctors tried their best to save him, but failed and declared him dead. Family members and doctors have confirmed his death.

Nana Patekar, one of the most famous actors of the country, proved his acting prowess in Hindi and Marathi cinema for several decades. He gained recognition for his acting in films like Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan and Welcome. This is a very sad news for Bollywood.

Nana Patekar was born on January 1, 1951. His real name was Vishwanath Patekar. He stepped into Hindi cinema in 1978 with the film Gaman and gradually made his debut in Salaam Bombay! And made his mark with films like Parinda. Her performance in Parinda was highly appreciated, which was a turning point in her career.

He gave unique performances in films like Angaar, Tiranga, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Yashwant, Ab Tak Chhappan, Aphaan and Raajneeti. His characters were often known for their impetuousness and unique style of delivering dialogues. Nana Patekar was also deeply associated with Marathi cinema and theatre.

In 1991, he ventured into film production with Prahar: The Final Attack, which he directed and also starred in. Over the years, he moved back and forth between Hindi and Marathi projects. He was known for serious and intense roles, but Nana also showed his comic talents in the Welcome franchise.
