After Nana Patekar's demise, singer Chinmayi Sripada has reacted strongly to those who are praising the actor. death information
Nana Patekar died on 8 October in Goa at the age of 75. According to initial reports, he died due to cardiac arrest. After his demise, many people associated with the film industry paid tribute to him on social media. Meanwhile, reactions have also come in on the old controversial incident involving actress Tanushree Dutta, due to which this matter has come into discussion again.
Sona Mahapatra's comment
Sona Mahapatra shared a post on X, in which an assistant director claimed to have witnessed sexual misconduct in the presence of Nana Patekar. He told that this incident was not related to the film 'Horn OK Please', but had happened on the sets of two other films. According to the assistant director, this behavior was hidden behind the actions taken during acting, so no one could say anything openly at that time.
Mahapatra wrote in the post that an AD has told about sexual misconduct on the set. He raised the question that how many witnesses would people be ready to accept? Along with this, he also said that one's talent does not prove one's innocence and death does not make one a saint.
Chinmayi Sripada's response
Chinmayi Sripada also shared the same post and wrote, 'Those who are praising Nana Patekar should accept that he had committed sexual abuse and this was not a one-time behaviour.' After his statement, the discussion on old allegations related to Nana Patekar and the controversy that arose during the Me Too movement started again on social media.
In 2009, actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the film 'Horn OK Please'. This issue came into focus again in 2018 during the Me Too movement. Nana Patekar had denied these allegations. In 2019, the police closed the case due to lack of sufficient evidence. In 2025, Mumbai's Andheri magistrate court dismissed the criminal proceedings against Nana Patekar on the grounds that the complaint was filed after the legal deadline.
Tanushree Dutta's reaction
After Nana Patekar's demise, Tanushree Dutta also reacted on social media. She said that she was going to Lucknow for a big event and would give her response later. He also expressed condolences to Nana's family. Amidst this entire incident, the comments of Chinmayi and Sona Mohapatra have again made the old allegations related to the actor a subject of debate.
