After 10 minutes, take out the mixture in a big plate. When it cools down a bit, apply a little oil on your hands and knead it well.

Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and soft. Now make 4 to 5 equal balls of it. Shape each dough into a long roll by rolling or pressing it with your hands.

Keep in mind that all the rolls should be of approximately the same thickness, so that they can cook well together in the steam.

Step 4: Steam the roll and cut it

Now heat water in a steamer or mesh vessel. Place the prepared roll in a steamer and cook it thoroughly. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the rolls and the steamer, so check them halfway through.

When the rolls are cooked inside, take them out and let them cool a little. After this, cut it into small round pieces with the help of a knife. This is your Khuchu Gatte.

Now heat some oil in a pan. Add white sesame seeds in it and let it crackle lightly. After this add chopped gattas and mix slowly.

Add some salt, chilli flakes, Kashmiri red chilli and finely chopped coriander on top. Toss everything well, so that the flavor of the spices gets absorbed well into the gattas.
