CJP in support of Ruchika: Sourav Das said – 50 percent of the MPs have criminal cases against them, why is no action taken against them?

New Delhi. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das has expressed his opposition to the FIR filed against a Noida girl for using abusive language against PM Modi during a student protest at Jantar Mantar. He said, “The use of abusive language during protests can be condemned. However, using the criminal justice system to target and harass them through the police is absolutely not right.”

Saurav Das wrote on social media, “The misuse of the criminal machinery against Ruchika Singh is unacceptable. Using abusive language does not constitute a criminal case. 50% of Lok Sabha MPs face criminal charges, including nearly 100 from the BJP. The police should focus their energy on them, not on a 25-year-old girl! Harassment of young people must stop immediately.”

Additionally, he said, “Since when has using abusive language become a crime in this country? People frequently use such language in everyday life. 50% of Lok Sabha MPs face criminal charges, including serious crimes like rape, murder, and robbery, yet no action is taken against them. You simply want to isolate them and make an example of them. This is completely condemnable. I once again appeal to the government and its police system to stop harassing young people. Stop targeting young people like this and let this girl go. This kind of misuse of police force in such cases is absolutely unacceptable.”

This is the case:
A zero FIR has been registered at Noida’s Expressway police station against Ruchika, a young woman, for allegedly making objectionable and indecent remarks against PM Modi during a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Since the incident occurred in Delhi, the Noida police, after completing the legal process, have transferred the case to the relevant Delhi police for further investigation.
