According to the information received, a team of Delhi Police came in plain clothes around 7:30 this morning, they said that they had come to check the health of Sonam Wangchuk. Suspicious of the protestors at the Jantar Mantar, they stopped the plainclothes police from coming. But the police forcefully entered the protest site and Soman Wangchuk was picked up and taken to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses have claimed that Abhijit Deepke was also beaten up by the police. In this regard, Abhijit Deepke shared a post on Twitter and gave information. “I have been beaten and detained by the Delhi Police.” Deepke has said so.

Abhijit Deepke said, “When I went to freshen up in the morning, Delhi Police goons came here and dragged Soman Wangchuk, 60 years old, who was on hunger strike for the last 20 days, away. These are not police, they are thugs of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. A 60-year-old man on hunger strike was abused and taken away by the Delhi Police. As soon as I came to know about this, when I went to Jantar Mantar, the Delhi Police surrounded me and abused and beat me. Pushed me, closed the gate, we will see how you go to Jantar Mantar,” he threatened.
