Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurabh Das (Saurabh Das) has clarified his position regarding the ongoing contempt case against Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma on social media. His comments have been removed from social media. Saurabh Das said that he did not post his comments and did not present wrong information in this regard. He also said that it is necessary not to try to mislead the court in any way and that the facts in this case must be seen in the right context.
According to a report by Bar and Bench, the contempt petitioner in the Delhi High Court has approached the court alleging that Saurabh Das and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal are deleting comments against Justice Swarnanta Sharma from social media. Making these claims, Saurabh Das said on social media that this is wrong and an attempt is being made to mislead the court. He wrote with a laughing emoji, “Nothing. I never delete comments. My reporting was based on complete RTI data and publicly available information. Why did Das do this? His reporting was based on factual documents and public records and he did not remove any content.
The case was heard before a bench of Justice Naveen Chawla and Justice Ravindra Dudeja. Senior advocate Arvind’s side said that the patient’s court has submitted that the material to be used as a basis for contempt action is available, but it is not possible to file a detailed reply. The patient’s side also made similar arguments and said that they did not get the relevant documents and copies of the material. After that, the court directed the Delhi High Court Registry to make the relevant material available to all the defendants. The bench has directed to make the material available. The court clarified that the case will be heard further on the basis of the relevant documents and replies.

The Delhi High Court has also given four weeks to Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal and journalist and Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurabh Das to file their replies in the alleged social media campaign against Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma. All these attempts have been made before the court during the hearing of the case. Contempt action has been sought against the person concerned on one basis.

The contempt case against Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma began in May 2026. The Delhi High Court on May 19 issued notices to Arvind Kejriwal and other parties concerned and directed them to file their replies within four weeks. On May 14, Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma ordered the initiation of criminal contempt proceedings against the judiciary for allegedly defamatory and defamatory social media posts. The court held that prima facie there are cases that require judicial scrutiny. The initiation of contempt proceedings is a separate decision by Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma in the case of alleged liquor policy (Awkari Niti). This came in response to social media posts and comments, allegedly sharing objectionable and misleading content against the judge.
