Uttarakhand News: From solar light to drinking water, Dhami government gave 676 crores; Know who got what

Uttarakhand News: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a big decision to give new impetus to the development of the state. The state government has provided total financial and administrative approval of Rs 676 crore for various projects related to clean energy, drinking water, power supply, education and development of local bodies. The government says that the objective of these schemes is to strengthen the basic facilities in urban and rural areas, to quickly implement announcements related to public interest and to provide better living facilities to the citizens of the state.

This decision of the government will give impetus to many important projects of municipal corporations, panchayats and various departments. Along with this, energy conservation, drinking water system and local development works will also be strengthened in the state.

Cities will shine with solar and LED street lights

The Uttarakhand government has laid special emphasis on promoting green energy and developing modern lighting systems in cities. Under this, Rs 35 lakh has been sanctioned for installing 200 solar lights on roads and public places in Almora Municipal Corporation. Along with saving electricity, this will also promote environmental protection.

Meanwhile, Rs 3.07 crore has been sanctioned for installation of modern central control monitoring system and LED street lights in Chamiyala Nagar Panchayat. With this technology, monitoring and operation of street lights will be more effective, which will reduce power consumption and also make maintenance easier.

Lighting system will be modern in Dehradun and Pithoragarh

In the capital Dehradun also, the plan to install modern street lights on major roads and busy intersections has been approved. Rs 1.95 crore has been sanctioned for installing modern lighting system from Ghantaghar to Buddha Chowk, Darshanlal Chowk to Prince Chowk, Prince Chowk to Saharanpur Chowk, Ballupur Chowk and Ring Road from Tapovan Chowk to Ladpur Church.

Apart from this, Rs 3.93 crore has been sanctioned for street lights and control systems in other areas of Dehradun Municipal Corporation, while Rs 1.99 crore has been sanctioned for installation of new light poles and panels in Pithoragarh Municipal Corporation. These schemes will improve night time security, traffic and civic amenities in cities.

Drinking water and electricity system will be strengthened

The government has also released a large-scale budget to strengthen the drinking water and electricity supply in the state. Rs 2.13 crore has been sanctioned for the drinking water scheme of Krishnapur area of ​​Nainital, which will provide clean and adequate drinking water to the people.

In the power sector, approval has been given for construction of 33/11 KV sub-station and new power lines in Kumaon division. Under the Kedarnath Dham Master Plan, a huge amount of Rs 212.10 crore has been approved for the construction of power lines and sub-stations. Apart from this, Rs 23.10 crore has been released as the first installment for the hydro power projects of UJVNL, which will further strengthen the energy potential of the state.

Education and local development also got big support

The government has also taken important decisions in the field of higher education. Rs 19 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a new PG building of the Faculty of Science in the Government Post Graduate College located at Agastmuni in Rudraprayag district. With this, students will get modern laboratories, better educational facilities and quality learning environment.

The government has also taken big steps to make local bodies financially strong. Based on the recommendations of the State Finance Commission, Rs 82.21 crore will be released as the second installment to all the district panchayats of the state. Whereas Rs 325.03 crore will be transferred to all urban local bodies. With this amount, roads, drainage, cleanliness, street lights and other local development works can be completed rapidly.

Government's focus on public interest and basic facilities

This decision of the Dhami government is being considered a big step towards strengthening the infrastructure in Uttarakhand. Projects worth Rs 676 crore approved for clean energy, modern lighting, better drinking water, strong power network, education and development of local bodies will accelerate the overall development of the state.
