Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's action is underway to realize the resolution of including Uttarakhand among the leading states of the country. On Monday, major action was taken against the officers who were playing with public health. Based on the report of the district administration, six senior and junior engineers of Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan and Drinking Water Corporation have been suspended with immediate effect for supplying contaminated drinking water in Jeolikot area of Nainital district and for negligence in discharging their responsibilities. For the first time, such a major action has been taken in any matter related to public health in the state.
Admission process also canceled
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, the state government has taken a strong attack on corruption by adopting the policy of zero tolerance. Just a day before, CM Dhami has taken strict action in the case of taking admission on the basis of fake certificates during the state centralized counseling of NEET UG 2026. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, till now the certificates of eight candidates involved in this case have been canceled and their admission process has also been cancelled.
Ordered to take strict action
When a complaint was received about public health being compromised, the Chief Minister ordered the top officials to investigate the entire matter seriously and take the strictest action against the guilty officers. In the same sequence, based on the report of District Administration Nainital, six officers have been suspended with immediate effect for negligence in discharging their official responsibilities. These include Superintending Engineer in-charge of Jal Sansthan, Haldwani, Assistant Engineer, Additional Assistant Engineer of Nainital Jal Sansthan and Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer in-charge and Junior Engineer of Drinking Water Corporation, Bhimtal. The Executive Engineer of Nainital Jal Sansthan has been warned of strict action in future.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, playing with public health cannot be tolerated at any cost. Public interest is paramount for our government and action will be taken against any officer or employee who ignores the public interest. All department heads and top officials have been repeatedly instructed in this regard.
