On Monday, a 23-year-old youth died suddenly after falling during the ongoing physical examination for recruitment in Delhi Police. The incident took place at Delhi Police Academy (DPA), Wazirabad. The deceased has been identified as Saurabh Kumar. Saurabh Kumar was a resident of Neta Nagar located in Salamatpur village of Anupshahar. He had come to Delhi to appear for the physical examination as part of the recruitment process. After he suddenly collapsed during the examination, immediate medical aid was tried, but his life could not be saved.
Fell unconscious while running on the track
According to the police, Saurabh Kumar had come to appear in the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PEMT) organized at Delhi Police Academy, Wazirabad. He was taking part in the race during the recruitment examination. During this time he suddenly fell on the track and became unconscious. The officers and employees present on the spot provided him immediate medical aid. After this he was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police have started investigating the incident and post mortem is being conducted to find out the cause of death.
Condition worsened before reaching hospital
After the incident, the people and staff present on the spot tried to give immediate first aid to Saurabh. After this he was taken to the hospital in a PCR van. According to the police, at around 11:11 am, Sonia Vihar police station received information from JPC Hospital that a youth from Delhi Police Academy (DPA), Wazirabad has been brought to the emergency department. According to the police, on reaching the hospital the doctors declared Saurabh dead. Further action is being taken in the case and the cause of death will be confirmed by the post mortem report.
Cause of death unknown, postmortem report awaited
On reaching the hospital, doctors declared Saurabh Kumar dead. After this the body has been sent to GTB Hospital for postmortem. According to the police, the exact cause of death will be clear only after the postmortem report comes. Police said that necessary legal action has been initiated in the matter under section 194 of BNSS. All aspects related to the incident are being investigated. Further action will be taken on the basis of postmortem report.
