New Delhi. On the first day of the new month, news of significant relief came not just for the general public but for hotels, restaurants, and small businesses. Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders by more than 200 rupees. However, the price of 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinders remained unchanged.
According to the new rates, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has become cheaper by ₹202, now costing ₹2,728. In Kolkata, its price has fallen by ₹209, reaching ₹2,872.50. This reduction in commercial LPG cylinder prices will directly benefit hotels, restaurants, eateries, tea shops, and other food businesses, reducing their operating costs. However, domestic consumers have not received any relief at present. The price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged. The prices of domestic cylinders in major cities are as follows:
Delhi: ₹942
Kolkata: ₹968
Mumbai: ₹941.50
Chennai: ₹957.50
Earlier, on July 1, oil companies had reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹183.50. At that time, the price dropped to ₹2,930 in Delhi and ₹3,081.50 in Kolkata. In Patna, the price of a commercial cylinder also dropped to ₹3,227. The reduction in commercial LPG cylinder prices for the second consecutive month is expected to provide relief to commercial establishments, while domestic consumers will have to wait for any changes in cooking gas prices.
