The minister told Diler Mehndi that this is a religious event related to the worship of Maa Durga during Navratri and on such an occasion it is important to take care of the dignity of the program. Questioning the singer's performance, he said, “Aapse bola toh ja nahi raha hai, gaana kya gaayenge.”
During the program, there were reports of displeasure among the audience regarding the presentation of Diler Mehndi.
