Mumbai Jewelery brand Jiva on Wednesday said it has removed its advertisement featuring actress Kriti Sanon for Rakshabandhan. People on social media had objected to the clothes worn by the actress in the advertisement. The brand said in a statement released on its social media accounts that its intention was not to hurt the sentiments of any section of the society, hence it has withdrawn the advertisement.
Jeeva said, we have great respect for Indian culture, traditions and festivals. As a brand, we have always believed in celebrating these happy occasions with the entire family. This time we wanted to include our pets in this love and celebration.
If our recent advertisement has inadvertently hurt the sentiments of any section of the society, we had no such intention at all. Out of respect, we have removed that advertisement from all media. May love and positivity prevail in all of your lives this festive season.

Controversy arose on social media after the advertisement surfaced. Many criticized the actress's attire during the traditional festival, while some even objected to her tying Rakhi to a dog. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut, in a post on Instagram, described Kriti's outfit as deliberately uncomfortable.
