But New Delhi’s position was clear, keeping in mind the national interest, oil would be procured from wherever it is profitable to import oil. From Jaishankar, the central leadership has repeatedly said this on several international platforms. He reminded, before warning India, Western countries themselves should completely boycott Russian products.

At that time America also gave ‘permission’ to India to buy Russian oil.
Jaishankar made a suggestive comment that Trump’s eccentricity is proved in this whole matter. He said, “Tariffs were first imposed to buy Russian oil. Then the ban was lifted.
