Cross voting in Rajya Sabha elections: Five Haryana Congress MLAs suspended

Bureau Prayagraj- Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, taking major action in the matter of breaking organizational discipline, has suspended five MLAs from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect. State Congress President Rao Narendra Singh said that this step has been taken against Shaili Choudhary, Renu Bala, Jarnail Singh, Mohammad Ilyas and Mohammad Israel, MLAs from Narayangarh, Sadhaura, Ratia, Punahana and Hathin.

It is reported that these MLAs voted against the party’s authorized candidate in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections, which was considered serious indiscipline. This action was taken on the recommendation of the State Disciplinary Committee and also has the approval of All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Rao Narendra Singh clearly said that discipline is paramount in the party and its neglect will not be tolerated at any level. He said that this decision is a strong message to all the leaders and workers that strict action is to be taken against those who go against the collective decisions of the party.
