Dalit vote divided, dent in OBC, now BSP looking for Muslim faces in Western UP
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) does not want to leave any stone unturned in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The graph of the party has been continuously falling since 2012. Party’s national president Mayawati is again announcing to form the government in UP for the fifth time. To achieve this goal, the party is busy working at the grassroots level.
Bahujan Samaj Party is busy strengthening its organization in all the districts. BSP is trying to bring prominent Brahmins as well as Muslims into its fold. Mayawati has appealed several times on open platforms to support BSP to avoid bulldozers and encounters.

Only a few Muslim faces in the party, Mayawati wants a big bet
BSP has only a few Muslim leaders left. After the expulsion of Naseemuddin Siddiqui from the party, many Muslim leaders left BSP or were expelled by the party. At present, the party’s National General Secretary Munkad Ali is its biggest Muslim face.
Why is Mayawati emphasizing on Western UP?
Shaukat Ali and Imran Masood are prominent leaders of BSP in Western UP. Arif Masood and Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali are also considered important faces of the party. There are many Muslim dominated seats in the western part of UP. More than twenty seats in districts like Moradabad, Rampur, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, Amroha, Shamli and Baghpat have 25 to 40 percent Muslim voters. If Dalit and Muslim voters unite in favor of BSP, then it will be easy for the party to win these seats.

Preparation to break into the vote bank of Samajwadi Party
Samajwadi Party has maintained a good hold here by giving place to Muslim leaders in the organization. In such a situation, BSP is now trying to connect Muslim leaders. BSP is making full preparations to perform well in the UP elections. After knowing the ground situation of Muslim leaders in Western UP, the party is considering giving them tickets.
First survey, then Bahujan Samaj Party will give ticket
Bahujan Samaj Party is also conducting a survey in the area. The officials of the organization have been activated. They are preparing assembly wise report. The focus of the party is on which seats have more number of Muslims and Dalits and how to include other castes by explaining them to the policies of BSP.
