Punjab News: On the 198th day of the ongoing “Gangsters to War” campaign, Punjab Police raided 633 identified and mapped locations of gangster associates across the state.
It is noteworthy that the “Gangsters to War” campaign, a decisive initiative to make Punjab a gangster-free state, was launched on January 20, 2026, by Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. Police teams from all districts, in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, are conducting special operations across the state.
11 Fugitive Criminals Arrested During the Operation
On the 198th day of the operation, police teams arrested 420 individuals, including two weapons. This brings the total number of arrests since the campaign began to 57,329. Additionally, preventive action was taken against 215 individuals. Police teams also arrested 11 fugitive criminals during the operation.
108 drug traffickers arrested on day 523
People can anonymously report wanted criminals and gangsters and share intelligence related to crime and criminal activities on the anti-gangster helpline number 93946-93946.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Police continued its anti-drug campaign, “War Against Drugs,” on day 523, arresting 108 drug traffickers. 10.6 kilograms of heroin and 326 narcotic pills were recovered from their possession. With this, the total number of drug traffickers arrested in just 523 days has risen to 75,549.
As part of the de-addiction campaign, the Punjab Police also encouraged seven individuals to quit drugs and undergo rehabilitation treatment.
